Custom RadioKing Caseinlay

The clamshell strainer of my Slingerland RadioKing snare is a widely overhanging item which makes it nearly impossible to store and transport the drum in modern cases without causing damage to the hardware parts. This fact forced me to find a safe, practical and inexpensive solution… so this is what happened. The basis was an 15" hardcase which I fitted with foam pads. Gabi Drescher, a renowned bag designer and producer from Augsburg did a real great job in sewing the foam into a robust and easy to clean fabrics, equipped with velcro for fixation of the pads. "Sitzt, passt, hat Luft" as the Bavarian people would say :-)
